We prepare our students to solve societal issues, to understand and address problems facing our justice and legal infrastructures, to be informed and participate in politics and analyze economic trends in our society and around the globe.

Scholarships

The College of Public Policy and Justice, along with the University, is proud to award scholarship funding throughout the academic school year. These scholarships are awarded to deserving students at all levels, including entering freshmen, rising seniors, and students continuing their education after graduation. Please see below for a full list of the scholarships offered through the college.

Economics

Please note: All scholarship applications for Economics are due Friday, March 3, 2017.

- Seth Johnson Scholarship (Endowment) - One $4,000 tuition scholarship for two semesters. Applicants must be an Economics major with a 3.5 GPA and/or high level of service activities.
- Phil Gregorowicz Scholarship - One $,1000 tuition scholarship for two semesters. Applicants must be an Economics major with a 3.0 overall GPA.
- Economic Forum Scholarship -
One $1,000 tuition scholarship for two semesters. Applicants must be an Economics major with a 3.0 overall GPA.
- Margaret Sturgis Scholarship - One $1,000 tuition scholarship for two semesters. Applicants must be an Economics major with a 3.0 overall GPA.
- Additional Scholarships - One $1,000 tuition scholarship for two semesters. Applicants must be an Economics major with a 3.0 overall GPA.
-A number of smaller scholarships are awarded in the amount of $500 and $250 for one semester. Applicants must be an Economics major with a minimum 2.75 overall GPA.

Justice and Public Safety

- James T and Inez Farrow Endowed ScholarshipTuition scholarship for one academic year. Applicants must be enrolled in Justice and Public Safety, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and must be a resident of Tallapoosa County, Alabama. If a student from Tallapoosa County cannot be identified, the scholarship will be awarded to another qualified student. Applicants must also demonstrate a financial need as verified by the Office of Financial Aid.  If a student with financial need cannot be identified, the financial need criterion may be waived. Prior recipients are not disqualified from consideration for this scholarship during subsequent years.
- Daniel Herring Donnelly Memorial Annual Scholarship - One $1,500 scholarship shall be awarded each year to an Auburn University at Montgomery student. Applicant must be enrolled in the Department of Justice and Public Safety and intend to pursue a career in law enforcement. The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and demonstrate a financial need as verified by the Office of Financial Aid. If a student with financial need cannot be identified, the financial need criterion may be waived. Include an essay stating the applicants intent to pursue a career in law enforcement, why the applicant should be chosen, and how the applicant will use their degree to positively impact our criminal justice system.

Political Science and Public Administration 

Undergraduate Degree
- Margaret V. Moody Endowed Scholarship -
One annual $1,300 tuition scholarship. Applicants must be enrolled in the Political Science and Public Administration program and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. 
- George B. Steward Award - Awarded annually to an outstanding senior in the AUM Department of Political Science and Public Administration. The award is named for the late George B. Stewart, brother of William Stewart, who served Mobile in the Alabama House of Representatives from 1978-1982. This award was established in 1989 by William and Susannah Stewart and their family.
PSPA Undergraduate Scholarship Application 

Master's Degree in Public Administration
- Steven C. Williams Endowed Student AwardOne annual $1,300 tuition scholarship. Applicants must be enrolled in AUM's Master’s in Public Administration program at the time of application and during the award period. Applicants must also have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- River Region Ethics ScholarshipOne annual $1,500 (amount varies each year) tuition scholarship. Applicants must be enrolled in the Master’s in Public Administration program, must have a current graduate GPA of 3.75 or above and have completed, or currently enrolled in, PUAD 6020-Public Service Ethics.
- Dr. George D. Schrader Outstanding Graduate Student AwardAwarded annually to a graduate student who has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. Dr. Schrader, a lawyer by training, retired in 1993 from AUM after eighteen years as a professor of Justice and Public Safety. He also earned a Master’s Degree in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from AUM. 
- Kitty and Dale Collier Scholarship - One $1,000 tuition scholarship to an outstanding entering first-year Master's in Public Administration student.

Army ROTC

- ROTC Campus-Based Scholarship - Four, three, or two-year scholarships for students who meet all eligibility requirements necessary to contract to become commissioned officers in the active-duty Army, Reserves, or National Guard.
- Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty (GRFD) Scholarship - ‚ÄčThe GRFD scholarship is available to those cadets participating in the Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP) between AUM Army ROTC and a Reserve/Guard unit. GRFD recipients are funded each year at full tuition and receive $1,200 for books. They are given an ROTC allowance for 10 months of the year at $450 per month during their junior year and $500 per month during their senior year. As a member of the Guard or Reserves, they will also receive drill pay. Those cadets who accept the GRFD Scholarship are locked into the Guard or Reserves upon commissioning.
- Green to Gold Scholarship - The Green to Gold Active Duty Option Program provides eligible, active-duty enlisted soldiers an opportunity to complete a bachelor’s degree or a two-year graduate degree and earn a commission as an Army officer. Those wishing to obtain a Green to Gold Scholarship must submit required paperwork, apply via goarmy.com and receive letters of acceptance from Auburn University at Montgomery, or one of the partner or affiliated schools (Troy University, Huntingdon, Faulkner, ASU, or Troy-Montgomery).

Sociology, Anthropology and Geography

Undergraduate Degree
-  Outreach/Sociology Tuition Scholarship -
Up to $1000 toward undergraduate tuition during one academic year. All applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2 and be a Sociology major in good standing. Alabama residents who will complete high school in spring 2016 and will enroll at AUM as a Sociology major fall 2016. High school seniors must have a minimum ACT composite score of 18. Students transferring from Alabama junior colleges to major in Sociology at AUM. Preference given to students demonstrating an involvement in outreach in the community.
